In the previous article, I wrote about the current situation of Koh Samui, but from this time I would like to write about the specific island of Koh Samui. So this time, I will write about the means of transportation from the airport on Koh Samui. By the way, there is an article that you may be able to go to resort areas such as Phuket in addition to Koh Samui from October, so please read article number #59.
Even if you can’t speak Thai, you can speak English on Koh Samui, so I don’t think there is a language problem.
To conclude earlier, there are only taxis on Koh Samui.
“…what? Isn’t it possible to use Grab or motorcycle taxi in Thailand?”
Actually, I didn’t know this, but it seems that Grab and motorcycle taxi cannot be used on Koh Samui. Therefore, when you arrive at the airport, you have no choice but to take a taxi to your accommodation
Only hotel staff or taxi drivers waiting to pick you up when you leave the airport
under)The price list from airport to hotel
Of course, the farther the place is, the higher the price will be.
It was 400 baht (¥1,300) to the hostel where I stayed. In a sense, Koh Samui has a higher image than Bangkok. However, since you can rent a motorcycle to move on the island, I think that moving the beach on Samui Island is not a problem (I will write about motorcycle rental in detail in the next and subsequent articles).
If you are afraid to drive a motorcycle, there are packages for going to remote islands and doing activities at hotels and hostels, so I think that using that is one way to do it.
The price of the existing package is about 1500 baht (¥5,000).
I thought I would walk from the airport without using a taxi, but when I arrived at Koh Samui after 6pm and it got dark, there weren’t many outdoor lights on the street corner and it was quite dark, so I gave up to walk. It’s not recommended to move around.
“Then is there only a taxi as a means of transportation? “You may think, but some hotels have free transfers from the airport, so I think one way is to find a hotel with transfers.
Transportation on Koh Samui is quite limited, so I recommended you to check in advance.
I would like you to write something like this in future articles. If you have any questions, please write them in the comment section. Thank you for reading.
