The bottom line is, of course, a bike. After all, it is possible to rent a motorcycle and ride in a remote island or small town in Thailand without a license. Rental bikes are priced at the same price in almost every place for 100-200 baht (¥ 340-680) a day. I always rent a motorcycle when I go to remote islands or cities with low traffic.
The rental method is very easy.
1.Go to the store and tell them how many days you want to rent a motorcycle
2.Write your name and contact information on the documents and leave your passport
3.Pay and return to the same location on the return date
「 understand 1 and 3, but I think there is a question about the part where you deposit your passport for 2.」
To be honest, I think it’s very uneasy to leave my passport (I’m sick every time I leave it). It is called passports are used as collateral, and you have to leave your passport instead of renting a motorcycle. However, I used to leave my passport to rent a motorcycle about 4 times in Thailand, but there was no damage such as being lost or not returned (I rented it for up to 5 days). But my passport was safe). Some rental bike shops say that when you return it, you fill it up with gasoline before returning it. In such a case, search Google Maps for “PTT” or “caltex”. Then, I think there is a gas station with the logo mark in the photo below, so you can put gasoline there.
under)This is a gas station of Caltex
Everyday, The price is almost similar.
There is a convenient and simple Thai language that can be used at gas stations. The word full is called “Tem” in Thai. Add “khaa” for women and “khrap” for men at the end of the word (in Japanese, meaning “masu”). So, if you say Temkhaa or Temkhrap, you can get gasoline. Payment can be made by card or cash.
The above is how to rent a motorcycle on the island & convenient Thai language. I was really worried when I rented it for the first time, but I think it’s safe because it’s not a terrible country to steal your passport. However, it is also recommended to keep a copy in case of emergency.
